The Federation Cup
This is often called the Fed Cup. It is held annually in India and it was started in 1977. It is considered to be among the most prestigious tournaments in the country. In the past, the club that won the federation would get an opportunity to compete in the AFC with the Indian League Champion team. There is now a super cup that is considered to be more superior.
The Durand Cup
This is an old tournament that was started back in 1888 by Mortimer Durand who was the Foreign Secretary at the time. When it first started, the matches in the tournament were held in Dagshau. In 1940, the venue for the matches was changed to New Delhi.
IFA Shield Cup
The Indian Football Association (IFA) always holds a competition every year. The games are played in Calcutta and it attracts a lot of supporters who follow football in India. The IFA shield Cup was started in 1893 and is the fourth oldest competition among the club cups; after the Durand, English and Scottish Cup.
The Super Cup
this tournament brings the top six teams from the Indian Super League and the I-League. The competition gets a lot of sponsorship for the event. The tournament is always called the hero Indian Super League. The clubs that finish in the bottom four from each of the leagues usually participate in the qualification round for them to qualify.
Santosh Trophy
This is also held annually. The difference compared to other tournaments is that it is played by people who are in government and state institutions. This cup was named after Sir Chowdhary from Santosh.
